Qualifications

• Minimum five years of newsroom management experience.
• Proven track record in news gathering and editing.
• Exceptional news judgment and ability to identify stories with strong audience appeal.
• Outstanding writing and editing skills under tight deadlines.
• Experience with multiplatform news gathering tools and digital publishing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of breaking news reporters, photo and video producers, and social editors.
• Collaborate with the executive team to set editorial direction, establish priorities and optimize newsroom workflows.
• Identify high-impact stories and exercise sharp news judgment to deliver timely, engaging coverage.
• Use audience analytics to optimize headlines, decks and story presentation in line with Daily Mail style and editorial standards.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality control and compelling storytelling across written, visual and multimedia content.
• Work closely with global editorial desks to deliver international stories that resonate with US readers.
• Mentor, coach and develop colleagues, providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative newsroom culture.
