Job summary

Intuitive Surgical in Sunnyvale, CA seeks a Manager to lead the New Products Supply Chain team, driving end-to-end supply chain for NPI initiatives and overseeing sourcing, procurement, and supplier management for new product components and assemblies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience in supply chain management, strategic sourcing, or procurement within manufacturing (medical device, pharma, or regulated industry preferred).
• Experience supporting product launches or new product introduction programs strongly desired.
• Strong supplier negotiation, supplier development, and contract management skills.
• Exceptional project management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Effective communicator—able to influence and build relationships at all levels, including executive and supplier partners.
• High proficiency in data analysis, problem-solving, and supply chain systems/tools.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the New Products Supply Chain team, providing guidance, development, and performance feedback.
• Design and implement supply chain strategies for new product introductions, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Coordinate closely with Product Development Engineering, Supplier Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product launches.
• Develop and monitor supply chain KPIs for new products and proactively address issues to achieve targets.
• Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies regarding supplier selection, inventory planning, and logistics for new products.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and responsiveness for new products.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and all relevant regulations for new product supply and distribution.
• Communicate project timelines, risks, and mitigation actions to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and suppliers to support new product launches.
• Prepare reports and analysis on supply chain performance and identify areas for improvement.
