Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Lead Network Technician to support voice and data networks for the 14^th Flying Training Wing at Columbus AFB. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and test all network switching and routing devices on both classified and unclassified networks.
• Support a mixture of Cisco and Juniper devices from the end user up to the installation's network boundary, at Layers 1, 2, and 3.
• Utilize monitoring tools such as SolarWinds and Forescout, and maintain the network's DHCP server.
• Assist in other duties like VoIP support, maintaining equipment accountability, and responding to RFIs, taskers, and suspenses.
• Use ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and CIPS for request and incident tracking.
• Act as Node Site coordinator, administer crypto equipment, and assist coworkers with server and network actions.
• Maintain all network communication closets.
• Provide on-site customer support.
• Collaborate with other agencies/organizations and outside vendors as necessary.

Qualifications

• 7+ years supporting enterprise networks. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Security+ CE certification (or equivalent IAT Level II) required.
• Cisco or Juniper certification required.
• Extensive experience with Cisco and/or Juniper tools and technologies.
• Strong understanding of network concepts, DNS, DHCP, and experience with SolarWinds and Forescout preferred.
• Experience with TACLANE, CLI software, and completing DISA STIGs.
• Knowledge of network security best practices, regulations, and working in a DISA/DoD/AF environment.
• Ability to mentor junior technicians, work independently, and support outside normal hours when needed.
• Must be a US Citizen with a current Secret clearance.
