Job description

Lead Network Engineer

London Stock Exchange Group, St Louis, United States

We are responsible for the ongoing support and reliability of the LSEG ecosystem, including Platforms, Networks, Applications, Services, and Websites.

We provide 2nd line support to Operations and Project Delivery functions, ensuring operational stability and robustness of the global network. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining software automation to ensure the reliability and availability of digital platforms and delivery pipelines.

Our support extends to the entire technology lifecycle through designing, building, and maintaining systems. We administer network services, ensuring performance against standards, and contribute to infrastructure and network design with innovative solutions.

Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor network services focusing on availability and identify improvements.
  2. Manage relationships with service providers, third parties, and partners.
  3. Make technical design decisions and handle workloads independently.
  4. Build, review, and maintain documentation according to industry standards.
  5. Define lifecycle management strategies for hardware and software, considering capacity.
  6. Support deployment of emerging engineering patterns across teams.
  7. Translate business requirements into technical network requirements and contribute to multiple projects with stakeholder updates.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Experience troubleshooting end-to-end network issues.
  • Knowledge of routing and switching protocols.
  • Experience in network operations, project delivery, and engineering.
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Fortinet, F5 (at least 2).
  • Strong L2 & L3 network skills, including HSRP, NAT, MPLS, VPN, GRE, BGP, OSPF.
  • Multicast skills including IGMP, RP, PIM.
  • Knowledge of firewall technologies, including next-generation features.
  • Understanding of load balancing and application delivery control.
  • Proficiency with network packet capture tools and analysis.
  • Knowledge of datacenter networking, SDN, Cisco ACI, VxLAN.
  • Scripting and automation skills (Python, Ansible, Terraform, GIT, GitLab, Rundeck).
