Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join the NDE team in Mississippi. You will perform welding inspections, verify conformance to codes, standards, and drawings, and document findings for production and engineering. The role requires a strong background in aerospace NDE, PT/MT methods, and adherence to ASNT/NAS-410 guidelines. on-site with background check in Stennis, MS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
• Minimum of 10 years’ total experience as a CWI; 5+ years in commercial aerospace NDE or similar regulated industry.
• Previously certified in accordance with ASNT TC-1A and/or NAS-410 for PT and MT.

Responsibilities

• Perform internal and external inspections to verify weldments meet code and project requirements.
• Record inspection data and communicate findings using computer systems.
• Conduct visual inspections of welds and verify repairs follow applicable requirements.
• Develop welding procedures for specific code requirements and oversee testing for welding certification.
• Monitor welding processes (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW) for compliance with procedures.
• Verify welder qualifications and material compliance with specifications.
• Review drawings and documentation to support fabrication and inspection tasks.
• Prepare inspection reports and communicate results to production and engineering teams.
• Conduct PT & MT inspections and participate in related audits as needed.
