Job summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead complex engineering programs from concept to completion, ensuring all technical efforts are delivered on time and within budget.

The role serves as the technical lead, balancing cost, schedule, and performance, collaborating cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and customers, and mentoring junior engineers. This role is bonus eligible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge.
• Knowledge in multiple engineering disciplines.
• Experience in project engineering, project management, or product management.
• Ability to independently lead a team of engineers to complete a complex project.

Responsibilities

• Lead all engineering efforts for a complex project or projects on time and budget.
• Ensure design compliance with all project requirements.
• Review customer specifications and requirements, lead a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable.
• Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments.
• Communicate clearly with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required.
• Participate in preparation of proposals and coordinate technical activities.
