Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. in Virginia is seeking an MV Line Tech 3/Journeyman Lineman (A-Lineman, Lead MV Line Tech) to safely perform construction, maintenance, and repair work on both overhead and underground distribution systems.

You will climb poles, troubleshoot lines, set transformers, and complete required reports. The role requires physical endurance, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and readiness for overtime, weekends, and night shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of AVO MV Training and NCSCB MV Splicing certification and/or Line Apprenticeship required.
• Journeyman Lineman certification desired but not required.
• 5+ years of verifiable field experience in the trade.
• Class A CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance, and repairs on overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Operate, inspect, and maintain aerial devices, digger/derricks, excavation equipment, and other line-related gear.
• Climb poles with hooks and belt, troubleshoot distribution systems, set transformers, and pull conductors.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and mapping information.
• Assist Foreman in training apprentices and other duties as assigned.
• Be comfortable with embracing new technology in the utility field.
