Job summary

Montclair State University is seeking an Executive Producer to command NJ PBS’s news coverage across broadcast, digital, and live streaming platforms. You will plan and execute daily news broadcasts, oversee a weeknight newscast, a weekday interview show, and special event coverage while guiding editorial direction for digital channels.

You will lead the daily rundown, coordinate with desks and anchors, write scripts, and manage live productions to ensure timely, accurate coverage.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in journalism, communications, broadcasting, or related field.
Minimum of four years of experience in broadcast news production and rundown management.
Proficiency with newsroom management systems and broadcast production tools.
Ability to work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced live news environment.

Responsibilities

Build and manage the daily rundown and oversee live production of news programs across broadcast, digital, and live streaming platforms.
Time scripts to appropriate length for each platform.
Coordinate with assignment desk, reporters, anchors, and technical staff to ensure readiness.
Write and edit scripts and promos for daily programs.
Oversee planning and execution of news content on all digital platforms.
Supervise key production staff to ensure seamless delivery across platforms.
