Job summary

Marshall University is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic II Lead to oversee a multi-trade maintenance crew in housing facilities. The position focuses on HVAC systems, preventive maintenance, and installation of new equipment across residence halls and cafeterias.

The role requires strong knowledge of commercial refrigeration and HVAC, plus basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills; leadership experience is highly preferred and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or certificate/apprenticeship required.
• At least 18 months in a building maintenance HVAC/R program.
• Universal EPA license required; WV HVAC license required.

Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate maintenance work for a multi-trade team.
• Perform master-level HVAC troubleshooting and repairs; basic plumbing/electrical knowledge helpful.
• Supervise and train assigned personnel; evaluate results.
