Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a Motion System Engineer to lead the development of precision motion stages and actuators. You will translate customer needs into clear specifications and guide external partners while coordinating with electrical and production teams.

You will own the design criteria, BOMs, and acceptance tests, and drive projects from concept through delivery, ensuring successful customer integration and robust technical support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Significant experience with precision motion stages or actuators and ability to specify systems and critically evaluate designs.
• Knowledge of servo and stepper motors, drives, controllers, encoders, and controls integration.
• Experience leading customer technical discussions and translating requirements into specifications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical contact for customers and partners.
• Translate customer requirements into specifications for precision stages, actuators, cables, sensors, and controllers.
• Lead projects from requirements to delivery, managing schedules, milestones, changes, risks, and customer expectations.
• Review and direct partners’ designs using kinematics, tolerances, bearings, and GD&T.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to resolve motion control and integration issues.
• Own specifications, drawings, BOMs, and acceptance criteria used in development and production.
• Coordinate builds and testing with production partners and ensure customer integration package is complete.
• Support customers, sales, and manufacturing with technical questions, troubleshooting, and integration.
