Role Description

The Lead Montessori Guide is a full-time, on-site role based in the Aurora/Naperville area. The Lead Guide will plan and implement Montessori-aligned lessons, prepare and maintain the classroom environment, and observe learners to tailor instructional approaches to their developmental needs. Daily responsibilities include guiding individual and small-group work, supporting social and emotional development, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning space. The Lead Guide will communicate regularly with families about learner progress, collaborate with colleagues on school-wide initiatives, and participate in professional development to continuously refine instructional practice.

Qualifications

• Formal Montessori certification (AMI, AMS, or equivalent) and experience as a lead or assistant guide in a Montessori classroom.
• Strong skills in classroom management, lesson planning, and observation-based assessment of learner progress.
• Ability to create a nurturing, inclusive environment that supports independence, creativity, and respect for each learner.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with learners, families, and colleagues, including clear documentation and feedback.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field; advanced training in early childhood or elementary education is a plus.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and openness to collaboration within a diverse school community.
• Experience working in urban or suburban school settings and familiarity with licensing and safety regulations in the Greater Chicago Area.
