Job summary

BioReference Health, LLC seeks a Molecular STI Laboratory Lead Technologist to perform complex chemical and biological testing for detection, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of disease. The Lead Technologist will collaborate with the lab team to provide testing services to clients.

Responsibilities include following SOPs, maintaining QC data, training staff, troubleshooting equipment, and contributing to the development of new procedures and methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or a related life science and meets CLIA personnel standard criteria.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience as a Medical Lab Technologist.
• State licensure, where applicable (CA, FL, NY require licensing).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Mathematical, computer, reasoning, and language skills at the college level (2 years).
• Ability to pass colorblind test.

Responsibilities

• Follows written lab procedures for correct handling and processing of specimens.
• Maintains up-to-date working knowledge of all technical procedures and instrumentation.
• Brings unusual situations to the attention of the Supervisor.
• Assists in orientation and training of new employees and mentors peers.
• Performs quality control procedures and maintains accurate records.
• Operates instruments and performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Reviews pending logs and resolves missing specimen issues.
• Participates in evaluation and development of new procedures, methods and instruments.
• May adjust schedule to meet company needs.
