About the Role

Culmen International is seeking a Lead Molecular Pathology Technician to support a USAMRIID program at Fort Detrick, MD.

The Lead Molecular Pathology Technician performs histopathology and molecular tissue assays in support of research studies evaluating disease pathology and therapeutic efficacy.

What You’ll Do in Your New Role
  • Perform tissue trimming, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
  • Conduct in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry.
  • Maintain accurate tissue logs and digital records.
  • Support necropsy operations and BSL-3/4 containment procedures.
  • Train junior technicians and maintain lab instrumentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or histotechnology.
  • 5+ years in histology or pathology labs.
  • Strong experience with histological and molecular staining.
  • Familiarity with digital pathology platforms.
  • Ability to follow biosafety and necropsy protocols.
  • Meticulous attention to quality and labeling.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
Desired Qualifications
  • HT/HTL (ASCP) certification preferred.
