Tempus AI is seeking a technically skilled leader to oversee a cutting-edge molecular workflow. You will ensure high-quality sequencing data, monitor QC, and maintain compliance across CLIA/CAP/ NYSDOH standards while mentoring a team of technologists.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD/MS/BS with clinical lab experience per above requirements.
• Strong communication and delegation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team.
• Attention to detail and a drive to build products that save lives.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily oversight of a molecular workflow to deliver high-quality sequencing data with rapid turnaround.
• Monitor lab processes, QC, instrument maintenance, and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure remedial actions when test systems deviate from performance specs.
• Perform quality review for samples from extraction to sequencing.
• Maintain CLIA/CAP/ NYSDOH compliance.
• Schedule training and competency assessments for personnel.
• Mentor clinical molecular technologists and extraction technologists.
• Maintain lab safety and enforce safety protocols.
• Utilize automation and robotics to standardize the discovery pipeline from sample to output.
• Schedule training and onboarding for new hires.
