Job summary

The role, in collaboration with the University of Alabama in Huntsville, focuses on developing value-added products from TEMPO, ABI, and GLM data and publishing results while coordinating with stakeholders through workshops and occasional

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Earth Science, Environmental Public Health, or closely related discipline.
• Strong programming background in Python and/or other languages.
• Experience with satellite data processing and visualization (TEMPO, MODIS, VIIRS, OMI, ABI, TROPOMI, EPIC preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work in a team and travel for collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead machine learning efforts in air quality, wildland fire, and satellite remote sensing.
• Provide scientific expertise for studies in satellite remote sensing and air quality.
• Develop higher-level air quality products and manage data distribution to investigators.
• Create synergistic products from TEMPO, ABI, and GLM data for applications.
• Lead proposals and scientific papers on ML, remote sensing, and modeling.
• Engage SPoRT stakeholders through workshops, meetings, and conferences.
