Job summary

Zizy Inc. is seeking an experienced machine learning researcher to shape and lead the ML research agenda for trustworthy AI. You will pioneer evaluation methods and interventions for safety, fairness, and undesired model behavior in cutting-edge AI systems.

You will mentor ML researchers, collaborate with product and infrastructure teams, and report to the Trustworthy AI lead, helping deploy responsible AI at scale while exploring ambitious open-ended goals.

Qualifications

• Track record of new ideas or improvements in machine learning, demonstrated by first author publications or projects.
• Ability to own and pursue a research agenda, including long-running projects and independent direction.
• Experience developing techniques for ML model measurement and mitigation.
• Experience leading project teams and setting technical direction in research.
• Comfort working across research and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Research upstream interventions at training data, pre-training, and training.
• Prototype novel evaluation methods for dangerous model capabilities, existential risks, fairness, and undesired model behavior.
• Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams to build scalable tools for responsible deployment.
• Develop and mentor ML Researchers on the Deployment Planning team.
• Architect interventions to improve real-world impact.
