Job summary

Google seeks a Staff Software Engineer, Network Health, in Sunnyvale, CA, to lead the long-term automation of AI/ML infrastructure and to design agentic diagnostic systems using Generative AI for next-gen networks. You will collaborate with platform teams to integrate hardware platforms and improve safety and observability.

The role requires deep experience in software, ML design, and a track record of leading complex infrastructure projects across partner teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• 5 years of experience with ML design and ML infrastructure.
• Experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term goal for repair automation of AI/ML infrastructure.
• Lead and participate in the design of agentic diagnostic systems using Generative AI to automate diagnoses for next-gen networks.
• Collaborate with platform teams to integrate new hardware platforms into the automation ecosystem.
• Lead critical safety initiatives, such as automated anomaly detection.
• Mentor junior and executive engineers and influence engineering practices across the organization.
