Job summary

NVIDIA in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a machine learning engineer with a strong background in computer vision, LiDAR and AI infrastructure to advance the DRIVE AV perception stack. You will design, train, and optimize ML models and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship production-ready components.

The role requires 6+ years in ML for automotive perception, expert C++/Python, and experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant proven industry experience applying machine learning to address real-world problems.
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong C++ and Python programming and debugging skills with experience in developing for large, complex systems.
• Deep practical experience applying machine learning to LiDAR/camera perception in automotive or related fields.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and a strong understanding of the mathematical foundations of ML.
• Building and sustaining training and essential metric workflows for large-scale datasets.

Responsibilities

• Model Development: Design, train, and optimize ML models for LiDAR perception (road element detection, semantic segmentation, tracking).
• Develop ML workflows: data pipelines, model training, metrics, and reporting.
• Productization: Ship ML models as part of NVIDIA DRIVE AV via production-grade code in C++.
• Innovation: Track and apply new ML techniques to improve platform performance.
• Collaborate with LiDAR/camera teams and engineers to turn complex ideas into reliable autonomous driving solutions.
