Job summary

General Mills is seeking a Lead ML Engineer to serve as the technical lead for migrating ML-based solutions from concept to production. You will guide initiatives across GCP, Glean, UnifyApps and other platforms to ensure scalable, resilient, and automated agentic solutions that meet organizational objectives.

You will lead complex ML programs, advocate for generative tools, integrate AI into large systems, and optimize cloud spend while ensuring robust monitoring and governance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of project/program management terminology/concepts.
• 4+ years professional experience as a software engineer, data scientist, or AI Engineer.
• Strong background in statistical modeling including ARIMA, regression, and Random Forest models.
• Background in optimization problems is strongly preferred.
• Track record of producing machine learning models and agentic solutions at scale.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with colleagues of varying technical and non-technical abilities.
• Passionate about agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and systematic experimentation.
• Bachelor’s Degree

Responsibilities

• Lead complex ML and agentic projects with stakeholder management and planning.
• Investigate and advocate for generative and agentic tools to enhance the team.
• Integrate AI solutions into larger systems with third-party apps.
• Scale ML models and agentic solutions through research and operations.
• Monitor model performance and cloud spend optimization.
• Automate ML pipelines, logging, and model usage analytics.
• Improve ML pipeline documentation and improve logging/diagnostics.
• Lead production issue investigations and root cause analysis.
• Improve deployment/change control for models.
