Job summary

Google is hiring a Software Engineering Manager to lead AI/ML systems and multi-team efforts across data platforms and security operations. You will drive project goals, contribute to product strategy, and help develop your team of engineers.

This role spans information retrieval, AI, NLP, distributed computing, and large-scale system design across sites. You will oversee deployment of large-scale projects, manage budgets, and coordinate international teams while ensuring high-quality software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience with speech/audio, reinforcement learning, ML infrastructure, or related ML field.
• 5 years leading ML design and ML infrastructure optimization.
• 3 years of technical leadership experience.
• 2 years in people management or team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI/ML systems from scratch for data platform.
• Process exabytes of data at planetary speed for search readiness.
• Augment customer data with context to aid security triage.
• Provide data management capabilities like removal and archival.
• Drive roadmaps for data intelligence indexing and enrichment including Spanner infrastructure.
