Job summary

Restoration 1 New Jersey – Medford, NJ is seeking an experienced Lead Mitigation Technician / Crew Chief to join our growing team at the Medford, New Jersey location. This is not an entry-level technician position.

You will lead water, fire, mold, and other property damage mitigation projects, supervise technicians, set up jobs, and help manage warehouse and equipment, while delivering high-quality results for homeowners, property managers, and insurance professionals.

Qualifications

• Previous water mitigation / restoration experience required.
• Prior Crew Chief or Lead Technician leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Experience supervising restoration technicians or field crews.

Responsibilities

• Lead water, fire, mold, and other property damage mitigation projects.
• Direct and supervise technicians and field crews.
• Set up jobs properly and make sure crews follow the work plan.
• Perform water extraction, demolition, containment, drying, cleaning, and other mitigation services.
• Set up, monitor, document, and remove drying equipment.
• Take moisture readings and document job conditions.
• Communicate job progress and issues to Project Managers and Operations Management.
• Help train and develop technicians.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsite.
• Make sure company equipment is properly used, cleaned, maintained, and returned.
• Assist with managing the Medford warehouse.
• Help maintain warehouse organization and inventory.
• Track mitigation equipment and make sure equipment is job-ready.

Restoration 1 New Jersey is looking for an experienced, motivated Lead Mitigation Technician / Crew Chief to join our growing team at our Medford, New Jersey location.

This is not an entry-level technician position.

We are looking for a go-getter who takes ownership, knows how to lead from the front, and can help manage the day-to-day field operations of our Medford location.

The right person will serve as a Lead Technician and Crew Chief, while also helping oversee our warehouse, equipment, vehicles, inventory, and field crews.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Lead Mitigation Technician / Crew Chief, you will:

• Lead water, fire, mold, and other property damage mitigation projects
• Direct and supervise technicians and field crews
• Set up jobs properly and make sure crews follow the work plan
• Perform water extraction, demolition, containment, drying, cleaning, and other mitigation services

• Help maintain company vehicles, tools, supplies, and emergency response equipment
• Assist with loading and preparing vehicles for upcoming projects
• Identify equipment or supply needs before they become a problem
• Participate in emergency and after-hours response when required
• Represent Restoration 1 professionally with homeowners, property managers, insurance professionals, and other customers

Preferred Experience

• Previous water mitigation / restoration experience required
• Prior Crew Chief, Lead Technician, or similar leadership experience strongly preferred
• Experience supervising restoration technicians or field crews
• Knowledge of water damage restoration procedures
• Experience with air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA air scrubbers, moisture meters, extraction equipment, containment, and demolition
• IICRC certifications are highly preferred
• WRT certification preferred
• ASD, AMRT, FSRT or additional restoration certifications are a plus
• Experience maintaining restoration equipment and warehouse inventory is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry restoration equipment and materials
• Work in residential and commercial properties
• Work in basements, crawlspaces, attics, and other jobsite conditions
• Wear appropriate PPE when required
• Work safely around demolition and restoration equipment
• Work occasional evenings, weekends, or emergency assignments when needed
