Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Systems Engineer to support the development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions. You will lead modelling and simulations from early capability studies to demonstrations and serve as a primary customer contact.

You will collaborate with experts across the business to converge on feasible solutions, work in multidisciplinary teams, and develop mission planning tools and physics-based simulations to inform design trade studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (active in past 24 months).
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, or comparable software language.
• 7 years of systems engineering experience.
• 2 years of experience in a technical leadership position (Engineering Team Lead, IPT, Technical Project Manager, etc.).
• Proficiency in MBSE.
• Proficiency developing control algorithms, models, and simulations.
• Proficiency in space environments, mission design, or astrodynamics.
• Experience with cross-functional teams and external customers.
• U.S. Person status for export control compliance; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Support technology integration and development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions.
• Lead modelling and simulation efforts from capability studies through demonstration.
• Serve as a core point of contact for customers.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to converge on achievable solutions.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams to bring concepts of operations to fruition.
• Develop and present review packages to leadership.
• Develop physics-based mission simulations to inform trade studies.
• Develop mission flight plans exploring novel astrodynamics approaches.
• Develop and maintain operational mission planning tools.
• Act as an individual contributor and team lead.
