Job summary

Cimarron Inc. is seeking a Lead Mission Systems Engineer to join an exciting space program with location options in Seal Beach, CA; El Segundo, CA; Aurora, CO; or Herndon, VA.

The role focuses on integrating technologies for first-of-kind space vehicles and missions, and leading technical reviews with senior leadership. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of systems engineering experience, 2+ years in a leadership role, and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

Position Introduction/Key Duties

Cimarron is seeking a Lead Mission Systems Engineer to join an exciting program located in Seal Beach, CA; with options to work from El Segundo, CA, Aurora, CO or Herndon, VA to support development of new first-of-kind space vehicles and missions.

Key Duties

• Support technology integration for and development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions.
• Develop and present review packages to internal and external senior leadership.
• Work proactively and independently in a fast-paced, demanding atmosphere.
• Develop physics-based mission simulations to inform system trade studies and verify system performance.
• Develop mission flight plans/concepts exploring new and novel astrodynamics approaches.
• Develop and maintain operational mission planning tools.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education

• Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance.

• 2 or more years of experience in a technical leadership position (Engineering Lead, IPT, Technical Project Manager, etc).
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

Desired Skills, Experience, And Education

• Proficiency in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Proficiency developing control algorithms, models, and simulations.
• Proficiency in space environments, mission design, or astrodynamics.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers.
• Experience in spacecraft, launch vehicles, or highly autonomous unmanned system.
