Job summary

Cimarron Software Services, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level/Associate Mission Systems Engineer to join a program located in Seal Beach, CA, with options to work from Aurora, CO or El Segundo, CA, to support development of new space vehicles and missions. The role requires active TS/SCI clearance, U.S.

citizenship, and the ability to pass background checks. You will integrate technology, build mission simulations, and work with cross-functional teams and external customers to deliver robust system

Qualifications

Position Introduction/Key Duties

Cimarron is seeking a Mid-Level/Associate Mission Systems Engineer to join an exciting program located in Seal Beach, CA; with options to work from Aurora, CO or El Segundo, CA; to support development of new first-of-kind space vehicles and missions.

Key Duties
  • Support technology integration for and development of first-of-kind space vehicles and missions.
  • Develop and present review packages to internal and external senior leadership.
  • Work proactively and independently in a fast-paced, demanding atmosphere.
  • Develop physics-based mission simulations to inform system trade studies and verify system performance.
  • Apply astrodynamics and flight mechanics to mission design, novel orbit concepts, and trajectory optimization.
  • Independently identify inefficiencies, propose solutions, and implement reusable tools and automations.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.   • Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • 2 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
Desired Skills, Experience, And Education
  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 or more years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience (Ex. PhD, Master's + 3 or more years' related work experience).
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, or comparable software languages.
  • Proficiency developing control algorithms, models, and simulations.
  • Familiarity with space environments, mission design, and astrodynamics.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external customers.
  • Experience in spacecraft, launch vehicles, or highly autonomous unmanned systems.
