Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Lead Mission Software Engineer to build and lead the Mission Software Engineering function within the EW division. The role combines architecture, leadership, and hands-on coding across embedded systems, networking, and applications to ensure field-ready software.

You will own operational readiness, mentor engineers, and collaborate with customers to translate mission needs into robust technical solutions while traveling up to 30% for deployments and events.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering, with production systems that must stay up
• 2+ years leading or managing a technical team
• Strong proficiency in at least two of: Haskell, Rust, C++, Go, TypeScript
• Experience with Linux systems administration and production debugging
• Experience across embedded systems, networking, applications, infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Build and grow the EW Mission Software Engineering team
• Set technical direction for mission software architecture, standards, tooling, deployment
• Contribute hands-on engineering: debugging, patching, integration
• Own delivery, installation, and sustainment of operational EW systems
• Triage field issues and coordinate rapid fixes across software and hardware teams
• Establish incident response processes and post-incident reviews
• Collaborate with operators to translate mission needs into engineering actions
• Coordinate with release engineering for field deployment readiness
• Travel up to 30% for deployments and customer engagements
