Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, located in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Lead Engineer to drive the technical strategy for missile and propulsion systems across multiple programs. You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, manage risks, and ensure milestones are met while coordinating with Supply Chain and Operations.

Qualifications include a BA/BS with 9+ years, or an advanced degree with fewer years, and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Willingness to travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of relevant experience.
• Graduate Degree and minimum 7 years of related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum 13 years of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Travel up to 25% and effective communication with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Lead vehicle and propulsion systems design with a focus on milestones, schedule and budget.
• Provide decisive technical judgments and communicate strategic vision in development environments.
• Coordinate engineering activities with Supply Chain and Operations.
• Share ownership of MRB and Nonconformance metrics and production delivery performance.
• Identify IR&D efforts and align with roadmaps to create differentiators.
• Lead pursuits with technical baseline rigor, cost justification and risk management.
• Contribute to program risk and opportunity management and mitigation actions.
• Ensure issue resolution and corrective actions through root cause analysis.
