Job summary

Astra Core-X is seeking a Lead GNC Engineer to design and implement advanced control laws for high-speed missile interceptors. You will model dynamics, ensure stability, and validate performance across boost and ramjet phases, with strong emphasis on robust attitude control and flight phase transitions.

The role requires hands-on Matlab/Simulink and Python modeling, HIL simulations, and close collaboration with propulsion and guidance teams. U.S.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–10 years of experience in flight control, stability, or vehicle dynamics.
• Demonstrated experience with control law development and implementation.
• Strong MATLAB/Simulink and Python skills.
• Experience with multi-phase flight regimes and dynamic simulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement flight control algorithms for boost and ramjet phases.
• Analyze vehicle stability during boost, transition, and sustain.
• Build and validate linear/nonlinear vehicle dynamics models.
• Integrate control laws with propulsion inputs and guidance requirements.
• Conduct hardware-in-the-loop simulations and software testing.
