Job summary

Henrico County Public Schools seeks an assistant coach to support the head coach in organizing the sports program at Brookland Middle School. You will help coordinate practice sessions and lead student-athletes during regional and state competitions.

The role emphasizes safe travel, sportsmanship, teamwork, and high-level coaching to prepare athletes for interscholastic competition. The position is hourly/temporary with stipends prorated as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of a public-school athletic program.
• Proven ability to coordinate high-level practice sessions.
• Proven ability to provide leadership and coaching for student-athletes during competitions.
• Prior experience in preparing athletes for interscholastic competitions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in the organization of the overall program.
• Assist in the supervision of student-athletes during daily practices and at games.
• Prepares players both physically and mentally for interscholastic competition through practice, teaching fundamental skills, and knowledge of rules.
• Assists in the cleaning, storage, and proper care of all team equipment.
