Job summary

Applitrack's Northwood Middle School seeks a dedicated Head Coach to lead Athletics/Activities and coordinate a staff of volunteers. You will instruct students in fundamentals, strategy, and fitness while upholding sportsmanship and character development.

As head coach, you will implement school athletic policies, supervise staff, schedule practices and events, and serve as a role model for student-athletes, pursuing ongoing coaching education through clinics and observations.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and willingness to examine new theories and procedures.
• Must model appropriate behavior for student athletes.

Responsibilities

• Located within Smyth County School Board policies and ensure staff compliance.
• Know and apply system, state, and league regulations consistently.
• Refer requests or grievances through proper channels and attend meetings as required.
• Establish the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques to be taught in conjunction with the high school head coach.
• Train and inform the staff and encourage professional growth through clinic attendance.
• Maintain discipline and morale; perform other duties as assigned by administration.
• Assist with scheduling, transportation, tournaments, and events; coordinate with maintenance and staff.
• Provide documentation for physical examinations and eligibility; safeguard equipment and facilities.
