Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited college/university.
• Graduate level engineering degree plus 7+ years' experience performing engineering duties or an AS degree with 11 years experiences performing engineering duties plus specialized advanced training (e.g., PTI. WPI, ECNE PUI).
• Theoretical Engineering knowledge - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Analytic, modeling & Calculation, understanding the business model.
• Practical engineering experience/application - Planning, Operations and Engineering Design, Construction, (e.g., field experience, standardization "Perform economic analyses of engineering alternatives, develop business cases and defend in front of stakeholders.")
• Engineering documentation - Ability to adequately document and interpret engineering documentation
• Ability to review and approve engineering work done by others to ensure compliance with company standards, specifications, and contract requirements
• Knowledge of Regulatory and Compliance Environment # Local, State and Federal Regulatory Standards and requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and plan activities of the Meter Test Lab and Meter Engineering.
• Support UI departments to ensure metering integrity, data flow, accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
• Monitor metering for major revenue accounts and ISO inter-tie metering.
• Coordinate ISO data requirements with data analysts and RMS personnel.
• Update and revise UI standards and NEC requirements for metering installations.
• Plan and purchase metering equipment with supply chain.
• Collaborate with Electric Systems on design, construction, installation and testing of metering.
• Develop internal metering standards and cost-effective designs for customer installations.
• Support Field group in deploying system metering and provide off-hour assistance during emergencies.
• Keep meter reference standards up to date and in calibration.
• Provide analysis to meter test programs to detect negative trends early.
• Assist Data Collection Group to ensure load settlement data accuracy for ISO.
• Lead engineering staff, provide technical leadership on complex projects.
• Mentor and develop team members; collaborate across departments.
• Liaison with contractors on policy and standards; work independently.
