Job summary

Sandstone Care in Reston, VA seeks a Primary Mental Health Therapist to lead individual, group, and family sessions addressing mental health and dual-diagnosis needs. You will develop evidence-based treatment plans with a multidisciplinary team to empower clients toward recovery and sustain best practices in care.

You’ll engage in thorough documentation, participate in utilization reviews, and collaborate with families to ensure alignment on goals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in behavioral health science (Clinical Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field).
• Active VA license in good standing (LPC, LICSW, LMFT, etc.).
• Background check including criminal records and motor vehicle reports.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based modalities.
• Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive treatment plans with clients, families, and clinical team.
• Ensure clinical documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with standards.
• Participate in utilization reviews and discuss medical necessity with insurers.
• Coordinate with families to align treatment goals and progress.
• Contribute to program development and staff mentorship.
• Represent Sandstone Care positively with families and partners.
