Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral Healthcare of Forrest City seeks a full-time Lead Mental Health Technician to support patient-centered care in a psychiatric hospital setting. You will lead MHT activities, mentor staff, and ensure a safe therapeutic environment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 3 years in a hospital with psychiatric experience, and completion of BLS and Handle with Care training within 30 days. Training on restraint procedures is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or equivalent work experience.
• Preferred educational or work experience in psychology, human services, nursing, or social work environments.
• At least 3 years of related hospital experience with psychiatric exposure.
• Must complete BLS and Handle with Care training within 30 days of employment, prior to assisting in restraining procedures.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients daily by assessing behavior, escorting them, and interacting continuously during shifts.
• Conduct BLS and Handle with Care trainings.
• Precept/train new and existing MHTs.
• Perform direct observation rounds and document patient behavior.
• Model and teach appropriate life skills to patients.
• Orient patients to the unit and assist with daily living skills.
• Provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
• Provide physical restraint or intervention if appropriate; training will be provided.
