Job summary

Dayton Children’s Hospital on the Mathile Center for Mental Health and Wellness inpatient unit seeks a Mental Health Technician III to provide advanced direct care, crisis intervention, and milieu leadership for highly acute pediatric patients.

You will work under licensed staff, delivering trauma-informed care, coordinating daily shift programming, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on treatment and discharge planning to ensure safe, age-appropriate care.

Qualifications

• Requires an associates degree in a related field and two years of mental health work experience.
• Registered Behavioral Training and certification provided upon hire.
• Inpatient mental health/crisis/emergency department experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical support in a trauma-informed milieu with high-acuity patients.
• Coordinate safety checks and high-acuity 1:1 interventions.
• Contribute to treatment plan development and discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide advanced pediatric care including essential medical tasks (EKGs, splints).
