Job summary

HCA Florida Largo Hospital is seeking a Lead Mental Health Technician to support behavioral health patients under RN supervision. You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment, participate in crisis intervention, and assist with activities of daily living.

The role requires BCLS, CPI training within 30 days, and prior behavioral health tech experience or training. No travel, full-time hours, and comprehensive hospital benefits accompany this position at our Largo location.

Qualifications

• Certified Behavioral Health Technician preferred; PCT training within 6 months of hire.
• High school or GED preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Fingerprint required.
• High School Graduate / GED

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, height/weight, intake and output, calorie counts.
• Establish effective rapport with patients.
• Observe, monitor and protect patient safety; escorting patients and restraining if needed.
• Perform bedside glucose testing and collect samples for lab as needed.
• Assist RN to collect data on admission for processing and discharge.
• Provide a positive role model for developing socialization skills.
• Coordinate and participate in group activities and encourage patient interaction.
