Job summary

MaineHealth NorDx is seeking an experienced Lead Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician in hematology. You will manage problem resolution, staffing workflow, and equipment maintenance, while developing procedures, testing platforms and quality control programs.

You will serve as a technical resource for internal and external customers and assume charge when a supervisor is absent. The role requires an MT/MLT certification and at least one year of experience, with a strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• Associates degree in MLS or equivalent required; bachelor's preferred.
• Current MLT or categorical technologist certification required; MT certification preferred.
• One year MT/MLT experience required; lead experience preferred.

Summary

This is aHematology Position, requiring strong hematology skills and strong training skills.

The Lead Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician role is responsible for problem resolution, staffing workflow, and equipment maintenance. Responsible for implementing, maintaining, and assisting in developing procedures, testing platforms, and quality control programs as well as serving as a technical resource for all internal and external customers. Assumes charge responsibility for the laboratory in the absence of a supervisor and performs essential duties of an MT/MLT.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a similar field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
2. License/Certifications: Current certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or as a Categorical Technologist (e.g., C, H, I, BB, M) required. Current certification as a Medical Technologist (ASCP, AMT, HEW, ABHI) preferred.
3. Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician required. Previous Lead experience preferred.

The pay range for this position is $31.79to $43.02 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
