Job summary

KA Recruiting Inc. seeks a Lead Medical Technologist to oversee day-to-day operations of a specific lab section and clinic point-of-care testing while ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

The role covers chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, hematology, urinalysis, blood gases, coagulation, and serology. Required are a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science, MT (ASCP) or equivalent, and 3–5 years in a laboratory setting with 1–3 years in leadership.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science Degree including completion of an approved Clinical Laboratory Science program.
• Licensure/Certification: MT (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Work Experience: Three to five years’ experience preferred within a subsection of the laboratory. One to three years’ leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review all policies and procedures and recommend improvements as necessary.
• Operate all laboratory equipment, perform maintenance and calibration as necessary.
• Stay current with CEU requirements and perform patient testing accurately.
• Participate in proficiency testing, competency testing, and special projects as required.
• Assist in maintaining technical policies, evaluating equipment, and new employee training.
• Use safety devices and PPEs when handling biohazardous materials.

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree including completion of an approved Clinical Laboratory Science program
