Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Med Tech Section Head to maintain technical quality for the laboratory section and ensure compliance with JC, AABB, CAP, CLIA, and Florida licensure requirements.

The role involves supervising staff, performing diagnostic procedures, maintaining QC and records, and mentoring new employees while staying current with instrumentation and testing methods.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a medical technologist in the state of Florida.
• Five (5) years of clinical laboratory experience; ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
• AA/AS degree; BS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains technical quality for the assigned section and ensures accreditation and licensing compliance (JC, AABB, CAP, CLIA, Florida).
• Supervises technical staff in the assigned section.
• Performs and interprets diagnostic procedures in the laboratory area.
• Maintains quality control, preventive maintenance, and patient records.
• Assists in orientation of new employees; stays current in technical knowledge and instrument use.
• Teaches students in the assigned technical area and completes technical competencies for team members.
• May cross-train to other job descriptions and performs other duties as assigned.
