Qualifications

• Licensed Medical Technologist in Florida.
• Five years of clinical laboratory experience.
• ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Special Skills include: ability to correlate results across tests and relate to patient treatment; multitask and learn instrumentation and software systems; Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission, CAP and AABB accreditation standards
• Knowledge of Federal and State Regulations on Clinical Laboratories

Responsibilities

• Supervises technical skills of staff in the assigned section.
• Performs and interprets diagnostic procedures in the laboratory area.
• Maintains quality control, preventive maintenance and patient records.
• Assists in orientation of new employees.
• Keeps current in technical knowledge and instrument use.
• Teaches students in the technical area.
• Completes technical competencies for team members.
• May cross-train to other job descriptions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
