Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Lead Medical Technologist in Willingboro for the dayshift (7:00am–3:00pm) with every other weekend requirements. The role emphasizes technical leadership, accurate high- and moderate-complexity testing, and cross-training in Hematology.

Required is a minimum bachelor’s degree in laboratory or related science and a valid MT certification or CLIA-compliant education; ASCP preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience as a Medical Technologist in the specified discipline or 2 years as a Medical Lab Technician with a bachelor’s degree is equivalent.
• Must have good interpersonal and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity testing accurately and without direct supervision.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Provide outstanding customer service and mentor staff, trainees, and students; liaison with supervisor.
• Review quality control, proficiency, and competency; oversee procedures and changes.
• Pre-analytical processes including patient identification, phlebotomy, specimen labeling, verification, receipt and shipment.
