Job summary

The Ohio State University’s University Hospital | Critical Care Laboratory is seeking a Lead Medical Technologist to direct the daily operations of the Chemistry area and provide leadership within the unit. This role performs specialized automated and manual procedures, verifies and reports test results, and may handle scheduling, training, and documentation.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field with MT/MLT certification, 3–5 years of clinical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field with MT or MLT certification.
• MT with 3 years of clinical laboratory experience or MLT with 5 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Knowledge in hematology and understanding of Westgard rules required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations of the Chemistry area and provide leadership within the Critical Care Laboratory.
• Perform specialized automated and manual laboratory procedures, verify and report test results, and ensure test quality.
• Handle scheduling, training and record keeping as needed; report to division director(s) and lab manager.
