Job summary

Lawrence General Hospital is seeking a Lead Medical Technologist to support the Core Lab Supervisor and act as the department contact in the manager's absence. You will ensure timely, courteous responses to patient and physician requests while aligning with departmental policies.

The role covers chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology, performing high-complexity testing, adjusting procedures for all age groups, and mentoring staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of hospital experience.
• BS in Medical Technology or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist Core Lab Supervisor in day-to-day operations.
• Serve as department contact in the manager's absence.
• Respond promptly and courteously to internal and external requests.
• Function in all core laboratory areas: chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology.
• Perform high-complexity testing and adjust methods for different age groups.
• Maintain quality control procedures and instrument checks.
• Notify care units and physicians of critical lab values.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records for statistics and billing.
• Lead in the absence of the supervisor.
