Job summary

Texas Oncology in Harlingen, TX seeks a full-time Certified Medical Physicist (MS) or (PhD) to join our regional group of three centers. ABR-certified or CAMPEP residency-eligible with board eligibility possible; Texas Medical Board license required or obtainable.

You will evaluate equipment, contribute to quality management, support radiation oncology information systems, ensure radiation safety, and lead clinical projects to improve patient care in the Rio Grande Valley.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited college or university.
• ABR certification or CAMPEP residency and board eligibility, with clinical experience.
• Texas Medical Board license required or must be obtained.

Responsibilities

• Periodic evaluation of equipment for continued utility, reliability, and lifespan.
• Design and implement all aspects of the quality management program for external beam radiotherapy equipment and related procedures.
• Assist in managing radiation oncology information systems, including usage protocols and data storage.
• Radiation safety duties for the practice, including employee monitoring and regulatory issues.
• Lead or participate in clinical projects to improve department processes or patient treatments.
