Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Physicist (MS) or (PhD) to join our Rio Grande Valley group, based in Harlingen, Texas. The role supports multiple centers with emphasis on quality, safety, and innovative cancer care.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s or PhD in Physics or Medical Physics, be ABR certified or CAMPEP residency-eligible, and possess clinical radiation oncology experience.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or PhD in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited college.
  • ABR certification or CAMPEP residency completed; board eligible.
  • Texas Medical Board license required or must be obtained.

Responsibilities

  • Periodic evaluation of equipment for continued utility, age, and replacement needs.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the quality management program for radiotherapy equipment and procedures.
  • Assist in the management of radiation oncology information systems, including usage protocols and data storage.
  • Perform radiation safety duties including monitoring, reports, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead or participate in clinical projects to improve department processes or patient treatments.

Texas Oncology is excited to announce an incredible opportunity seeking a full-time, Certified Medical Physicist (MS) or (PhD) to join our regional group of three radiation oncology centers located in the Rio Grande Valley with the Texas Oncology clinic in Harlingen, Texas being the primary center. Responsibilities
  • Periodic evaluation of all equipment for continued utility, appropriateness, reliable performance, age, and condition to make recommendations on practical life span, obsolescence, and replacement
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of all aspects of the quality management program that includes the use of external beam radiotherapy equipment as well as the review and proposal of changes to procedures followed by radiation therapy staff
  • Assist in the management of radiation oncology information systems, including development of usage protocols, maintenance, and data storage
  • Radiation safety duties for the practice, including assisting with employee monitoring, reports, and regulatory issues
  • Lead or participate in clinical projects to improve department processes or patient treatments
Qualifications
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Applicants must have a Master’s degree or PhD in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited college or university.
  • Must be ABR certified, or have completed a CAMPEP approved residency and be board eligible, and have working experience in a clinical environment.
  • Texas Medical Board license required or must be obtained.
