Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist – Laboratory Department

Work location: Texas Health Rockwall – 3150 Horizon Road, Rockwall TX 75032

Work hours: Full Time, 40 hours a week. Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm

Here’s What You Need

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science preferred. Individuals hired as CLS II/CLS Ld prior to January 3, 2010, will be grandfathered to the MLS Ld position with existing education. This is required.
• 4 Years experience and training in a medical laboratory are required.
• 2 Years leadership experience is preferred.
• MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist (6 Months required) OR
• MLS(ASCP) - Medical Lab Scientist (6 Months required) OR
• Other licenses (AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY, Philippine Board of Technical Technology) (6 Months required) OR
• M(ASCP) - Microbiology (if working in Microbiology, 6 Months required) OR
• BB (ASCP) - Blood Banking (if working in Blood Bank, 6 Months required)

Strong positive interpersonal skills, ability to read, write, and speak English clearly, problem-solving skills, time management, organizational skills, and computer literacy (Word, Excel, databases) are essential. Experience with Cerner Millennium LIS is preferred.

What You Will Do

• Maintain knowledge of continuous improvement concepts and ensure compliance with accrediting agency requirements.
• Assist bench technologists in solving QC and technical problems.
• Participate in daily operations, including assuming bench duties as scheduled.
• Comply with safety, infection prevention, and continuing education programs.
