Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis is seeking an experienced medical technologist to test and validate specimens, report results, and maintain instrument performance. You will lead laboratory staff, contribute to training, and ensure adherence to CAP/TCJ/AABB or other accrediting standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in medical technology, 3 years of acute care experience, and active or soon-to-be licensure/certification (ASCP/NCA/AMT/CSMLS) with state licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an approved college or university in medical technology or related field.
• 3 years of experience as a medical technologist in an acute care facility.
• Current licensure/certification as required (ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS) within 12 months of hire.
• State licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Processes and tests specimens; reviews and reports lab results; performs operational duties and maintenance of instrumentation.
• Provides direction to other laboratory staff that may include medical laboratory technicians and technologists.
• Maintains a complete and up-to-date procedure manuals.
• In high volume core laboratories, works across multiple departments or facilities as requested.
• Completes other duties assigned by laboratory supervisor or director.
• Serves as point of care coordinator for non-laboratory tests.
