Job summary

Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist to provide technical leadership and oversight for laboratory personnel. The role focuses on coordinating daily activities, ensuring quality, and guiding performance evaluations within the chemistry section and across related areas.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science, appropriate certification (MT/CLS), and several years of accredited-lab

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in medical technology/clinical laboratory science or related science required.
• MT (ASCP)/CLS(NCA) or subspecialty certification such as C(ASCP) required.
• 3 years’ experience in an accredited laboratory required; hospital lab experience preferred.
• Ability to multi-task with high accuracy; detail oriented and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates daily activities for laboratory personnel.
• Performs preanalytic, analytic, and post-analytic testing responsibilities.
• Monitors quality control and inventory of supplies and reagents.
• Teaches theory and procedures to students in medical technology.
• Lead analytic testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, and Special Chemistry sections.
