Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville, TN, seeks a Laboratory supervisor to lead the Clinical Laboratory team. Day shift 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; SBB preferred but not required.

Must have a working understanding of medical technology, the ability to recognize problems, and strong communication under high stress. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, participate in staff training, and help develop quality control programs.

Qualifications

• Certifications include Licenses in Medical Laboratory Act (Tennessee) and ASCP certifications.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (Required); Work Experience: Relevant experience; Experience Level: 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Work with manager to optimize laboratory processes and meet quality performance standards.
• Participate in employee selection, ensure staff are trained and competent, identify training needs, and provide feedback for performance evaluation.
• Assist with developing and implementing a quality control/assurance program, including proficiency testing and peer review standards.
• Maintain all required activities and documents to ensure regulatory and accreditation standards applicable to the laboratory.
