Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville, TN is seeking a Laboratory - Clinical professional for night shift (6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.).

You will perform processing and testing across departments, maintain lab policies, and support technologists and the Laboratory Director as needed. The role requires a working understanding of medical technology, strong communication, and the ability to handle high-stress conditions while protecting patient privacy and PHI according to regulations.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of medical technology and patient care for multiple age groups.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Understanding of privacy, PHI, and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Processing and testing in one or more departments during a shift
• Mastery and practice of laboratory policy and procedure
• Intimate knowledge of testing methods theory and instruments and tools used for diagnostic utility
• Quality Assurance, Kit Validation, Instrument Maintenance, Proficiency Testing, Environmental Monitoring, Reagent Preparation, Diagnostic Reporting and Alarm
• Incident reporting and documentation
• Professional and medical ethics, confidentiality police, PHI and patient privacy guardian
• Specimen collection specialist
• High complexity specialty management
• Assisting Technologists and Administrative Laboratory Director as needed and where appropriate
