Job summary

Biomerics LLC in Minnesota seeks an experienced Principal Engineer – Extrusion SME to lead technical direction for new medical extrusion projects from opportunity assessment through validation and production handoff.

The role requires deep extrusion expertise, collaboration with Commercial, Estimating, QA, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, and the ability to drive manufacturable solutions with customers and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• 8 years of engineering experience in medical extrusion, catheter manufacturing, or regulated medical device development.
• Experience developing, validating, and transferring extrusion processes to production.
• Knowledge of FDA QSR/ISO 13485 design controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction for new extrusion programs from opportunity through production handoff.
• Define materials, tooling, processes, and equipment for complex extrusion applications.
• Translate customer requirements into development plans and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure schedules, costs, and validation plans are met.
• Support technology transfer and capital project execution.
