Job summary

Biomerics is seeking a Principal Engineer - Extrusion SME to lead technical direction for new extrusion projects and partner with Commercial, Estimating, Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations to ensure successful development, validation, and launch.

This role requires deep medical extrusion expertise, materials knowledge, and the ability to guide customers through development, validation, and transfer to production across multiple complex tubing applications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience in medical extrusion or regulated medical device development.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing, validating, and transferring medical extrusion processes to production.
• Strong knowledge of medical-grade polymers and extrusion tooling, equipment, and processes.
• Experience with FDA Quality System requirements and ISO 13485.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills for customer-facing discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction for new extrusion programs from concept through production handoff.
• Translate customer requirements into practical extrusion concepts, plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify materials, processes, tooling, and equipment for each application and guide DoM decisions.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Estimating, Quality, and Manufacturing to align scope, cost, and schedule.
• Provide technical mentorship and drive continuous improvement in extrusion capabilities.
